$1 Million Grant to Aid Renovation of Historic Hotel

The Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) recently announced approval of a $1,000,000 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) to support a redevelopment project at the Dilworth Hotel in downtown Boyne City. The CDBG grant encourages private development in this vacant building which will create jobs and eliminate blight.

The Historic Dilworth Hotel in downtown Boyne City has been in a state of disrepair for many years, but will soon undergo a complete renovation to bring it back to a stately condition.

The grant helps offset extraordinary costs above and beyond normal development costs such as environmental remediation of lead and asbestos, selective demolition and façade stabilization, as well as major upgrades for barrier free access and fire suppression systems compliance.
