In reality, entrepreneurs are the only ones that truly create jobs in our economy and we want to support your efforts. Northern Michigan has a unique network of local business resource centers. By sharing resources we are able to offer research and business development tools locally for entrepreneurs at all stages; from pre-startup to startup and through the growth stages. Michigan Small Business and Technology Development Center
The Michigan Small Business & Technology Development CenterTM (MI-sbTdcTM) network provides a full range of services for a variety of small businesses that are emerging and growing throughout Michigan — including new venture companies, existing small businesses, expanding businesses, new technology companies, and innovators. The MI-sbTdc network is a grassroots advocate for small businesses working in partnership with local resources to grow and strengthen companies. New ventures, in particular, may be unfamiliar with funding sources and support services. The MI-sbTdc works hard throughout the state to uncover opportunities and build relationships with organizations that can provide the extra assistance that makes a real difference to entrepreneurs.

Business Accelerator Program
The goal of the NLEA Business Accelerator Program is to engage clients that are committed to the process of business growth, entrepreneurial development and entrepreneurial education. Although the individual characteristics of the entrepreneur are important, the product or service must also have commercial viability. Acceptance into the program is not automatic and the prospective client will be required to complete an application and go through an approval process.

Business Resource Center Road Map
Every Business Resource Center has business related books, magazines, periodicals and reference resources. From "writing a business plan" basics to titles on specific types of business start-ups and growth. Internet based resources are also available. Each BRC has its own website with quick links to many tools and materials that entrepreneurs need as they develop their business and/or idea. Visit your local BRC today!
