Ten convenient locations serving all of Northern Michigan!

Entrepreneurs are the life blood of our economy. We commend you and your entrepreneurial spirit as we know that in reality, entrepreneurs are the only ones that truly create jobs that grow the economy and we want to support your efforts.

Working closely with the MI-sbTdc, Michigan State University, local libraries, Chambers of Commerce and others, we have established a network of Business Resource Centers here in Northern Michigan. By sharing resources we are able to offer research and business development tools, provide business counseling and present valuable workshops and training programs aimed specifically for the needs of the entrepreneur…no matter where you are on your journey, from pre-startup to startup and through the growth stages.

Think of our BRC Network as one Business Resource Center with ten locations. Plus…we have a website component, so the BRC can be as close as your computer. All designed to better serve you, the client.

Each resource center has:

  • Business related books, magazines, periodicals and hard copy resources. From “writing a business plan” basics to titles on specific types of business start-ups and growth. Reference directories assist in research and other demographic information.
  • Internet based resources. Websites, market research and other web-based tools for the entrepreneur that needs to tap into the World Wide Web for the most updated info.
  • Business Counseling. A trained MI-sbTdc business counselor is available for one-on-one business counseling. Our counselors travel throughout the BRC network and have regularly scheduled days when they are at each location. Library or chamber staff can help you set an appointment.
  • Business Seminars. In addition to monthly “How to Start a Business” seminars, there are other training and seminar programs designed for entrepreneurs that happen throughout the BRC network.
  • Business Accelerator program. For those entrepreneurs currently in business that want to take their business to the next level. This program is similar to having a personal trainer to provide specific customized support.

If at any time you would like the services of a business counselor, simply click here to find out how you can schedule a confidential appointment with a trained & certified MI-SBTDC business counselor; call the NLEA at 231-582-6482 or your local Chamber of Commerce for more information.
