CNC Training Right at Your Doorstep
The exciting collaborative regional project to provide a critical resource to the manufacturing business community is about to become a reality! Our new Mobile Digital Fabrication Lab to be known as the “Fab Lab” is being built in Southeastern Michigan and will be delivered to Northern Michigan in February. North Central Michigan College will own and operate the Mobile Lab which will deliver Computer Numeric Control (CNC) training to high school and college students, manufacturing employees and those seeking to gain a marketable skill leading to high-paying career jobs. Once the “Fab Lab” arrives in February, it will travel throughout NLEA’s four County region, showcasing high-tech manufacturing careers and providing CNC training, from entry-level to advanced. This project is the result of a collaborative effort by business, education, communities and government, unmatched in any other part of Michigan. A Manufacturing Advisory Team, with NLEA leading the way, will guide the operation and use of the “Fab Lab”. Stay tuned for Grand Opening celebration information, to take place in March 2014.
