According to the U.S. Census, the County's estimated population in 2005 was 33,580 - an increase of 2,143 persons or +6.8% from the 2000 Census.

In 2004, the per capita income in Emmet County was $32,709. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average annual wage per job in Emmet County in 2005 was $29,869. The Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Growth indicated that the total labor force in for the County in November 2006 was 19,864 with 18,114 of those employed.
