Careers in information technology deal with the design, creation, management and maintenance of the varied components of the system, including software, hardware, networks, systems integration and multimedia. Broadly, information technology can be divided into four central pathways: network systems, information support and services, programming and software development, and Web and digital communication.

“The best piece of advice I could give to anyone graduating and in pursuit of any career, but especially those based in technology – would be to learn how to be effective in sales. You will use that more than any other skill that you have. It can be as simple as selling a job to a client or customer, or selling yourself to get a raise or to move to a different company, or even selling an idea you have that is going to be a game-changer, but nobody‚Äôs going to buy into it yet. So get as much sales training as you possibly can, and look at sales as the most valuable part of any business.”

    – Took his first job out of college in Aspen Spring Valley, Colorado and worked as a Web Designer for a year
    – Moved away from Colorado and had his former employer as his first client for Sungem in 2005
    – Has owned and operated his own business since opening
