The “Hot Jobs’ project created by the Northern Lakes Economic Alliance (NLEA) will return in Region 3 of Michigan this summer. To create and fill jobs in Northeast Michigan, the Northeast Michigan Council of Governments identified the most popular jobs in the area.
“This is an exciting project because we get to showcase a lot of career and job opportunities in Northeast Michigan,” Andy Hayes president of the NLEA said.
NLEA interns will go into businesses in the area to interview individuals about the popular career fields. The printable profiles and videos formed from the interviews give a first-hand account of what it is like to work and live in Northeast Michigan. They will also tell what the wages for the job are, what schooling and credentials are required, the career path the person took and advice to those interested in the specific career.
The profiles will be distributed to middle and high schools, colleges, technical schools, career recruitment services and individual companies to be used as an educational tool. Additionally, the profiles and videos will be on http://www.northernlakes.net and the NLEA YouTube channel by Aug. 11. All Hot Jobs materials are available free of charge for anyone to use.
