Medical Instrument Manufacturer Comes to Boyne City
Precision Edge, Surgical Products Company, LLC. a manufacturer of precision surgical components, cutting tools and instrumentation for use in the orthopedic industry is pleased to announce that it has decided to build its new manufacturing facility in Boyne City, Michigan at the Boyne Air Business Park. This new addition to the Precision Edge family will provide badly needed additional space and personnel needed to keep up with increasing customer demand. Construction on their new $5 million, 34,000 plus square foot facility has begun and initial hiring of 30 new employees is underway with the potential for much greater growth based on customer demand.
Boyne City was one of many sites being considered by Precision Edge, both in Michigan and other states. Precision Edge has been working closely with NLEA and the City of Boyne City for several months to find a site that would meet their needs. During their site search representatives from Precision Edge met with local business and government leaders to learn more about the community and if it would be able to provide the site, infrastructure and employees to meet their needs. The answer was a definite yes. Precision Edge’s decision to locate in Boyne City brings a new industry, medical instrument production, to the region helping to diversify its economic base.
