Fundamentals of Planning and Zoning
Michigan Citizen Planner is hosting "Fundamentals of Planning and Zoning" in Petoskey on Mondays from April 9-May 21, 2012. Participants will learn how to proactively plan and lead Michigan's recovery and transformation to prosperity. The training series is intended for local appointed and elected officials, zoning administrators and interested citizens. Participants will gain the knowledge to help their communities manage the impacts of economic change and be part of the solutions to challenges their communities face. 2012 Northern Michigan Placemaking Summit
The Northwest Michigan Council of Governments (NWMCOG), The Grand Vision Growth & Investment Network, and the Charlevoix/Cheboygan/Emmet Counties Placemaking Group are proud to convene two information-packed and engaging events supporting locally-based initiatives around "placemaking" on May 21. One event will be in Traverse City and the other in Petoskey. Both events will have similar agendas and speakers.
The 2012 Northern Michigan Placemaking Summits are a follow-up to the 2011 introduction of basic placemaking concepts and will be more action based, regional and focused on how one can implement placemaking strategies in their community. Each event includes lunch, plenary speakers, and breakout sessions covering a wide variety of topics. Register now for the 2012 Northern Michigan Placemaking Summit.
