Established in 1986 by the current owner, Alex Mitchell, AM Manufacturing LLC produces complete load-out system components (loading spouts) for the bulk loading industry with 5 full-time employees. The company completed a move on May 13th, 2019 to a new facility within Charlevoix County (05321 US Hwy 31 South, Charlevoix, MI 49720 in Norwood Township). The new 9,600 square foot plant on 5.1 acres more than doubles their old production and office space.

Their office administrator, Tammy Mitchell noted that “There is still a lot of work to be done to feel all settled.” However, she and the AM Manufacturing team are enjoying the extra space with plans to add up to 5 new employees. The win-win for both AM Manufacturing and Norwood Township will allow for increased hiring to keep up with more sales and an increased tax base for the township for decades to come.

Owner and founder Alex Mitchell offered his thanks saying, “The NLEA was very helpful and supportive in guiding us through the process of establishing an Industrial Development District for our new plant expansion in Norwood Township. Their expertise in working with local governmental boards and the necessary Public Hearing requirements resulted in our company receiving the maximum tax abatement allowed. Our thanks to their staff for the thought and care we received that will allow us to grow and provide more jobs in Charlevoix County.” – Alex Mitchell, President AM Manufacturing, 2018.
