NLEA Partners With MEDC
Northern Lakes Economic Alliance (NLEA) is the local economic development organization that partners directly with the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) to bring state programs and dollars to local companies. This strong partnership with the MEDC office allows for more direct access to the people and programs that facilitate projects with significant impact. Everyday the NLEA is in communication with Program Directors at the MEDC working on projects like the following:

Pure Michigan Business Connect
Pure Michigan Business Connect (PMBC), a public-private initiative developed by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC), currently connects participating Michigan companies with opportunities to help them grow and expand through their business-to-business (B2B) network. The B2B network provides support with procurement resources to expand supply chains, generate new business opportunities, facilitate business networking opportunities and enable direct business assistance with legal, accounting, and other services. - Search and respond to posted procurement opportunities
- Post procurement needs that you need fulfilled

Michigan Export Program
The Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) is putting together a program to help small and midsize businesses interested in trade and exporting. The goal is to integrate export resources and services already available in Michigan to provide an export road map for companies and ensure they receive the assistance they need. State Trade Export Promotion (STEP)
Michigan companies with fewer than 500 employees can now qualify for financial assistance for export-related activities through the Pure Michigan State Trade Export Promotion (STEP) program. The program was launched by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), program and is designed to increase the number of Michigan companies that export and introduce current exporters to new foreign markets and buyers.
