Explore the luxurious arts center as you enjoy complimentary hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar when doors open at 5:30pm. The fun starts at 6pm when guests can enter the state of the art auditorium for the finale entrepreneur showdown. Cheer on your local entrepreneurs as they present their business pitch to our panel of esteemed judges, northern Michigan business experts.
Vote for your favorite pitch for the People’s Choice Award while the judges deliberate. This is also a great opportunity to make connections and mingle, and for angel investors to network with our competing entrepreneurs and help them succeed in our local communities.
The pitch night competitions in Antrim, Charlevoix, Cheboygan, and Emmet counties boasted 776 attendees, 36 pitches, and $60,500 awarded in startup funds! Don’t miss out on the finale celebration of entrepreneurship and witness businesses set up shop in your communities. “20 businesses launched last year as a result of GreenLight East Jordan, Invest Cheboygan, and the Grand Event and it’s been exciting to expand these programs by adding events in Emmet and Antrim to help more entrepreneurs launch,” said Hannah Sanderson-NLEA Business Attraction & Growth.
Last year’s Grand Event saw three business launches: 1st place winner Kaila Thomas South Arm Market, 2nd Place Rachel Warnos of Adventure Sports North and 3rd place and People’s Choice winner, Lindsey Miller of Urban Bird & Company.
