Andy Hayes, NLEA President
In the vast amount of partners that make up the NLEA, one of our longest partnerships is with Michigan State University Extension (MSUE). This partnership is more than 25 years old and has enabled the NLEA to tap into vast resources that benefit companies, entrepreneurs, and area communities.
In the MSUE family tree, NLEA is housed within the Community, Food & Environment Institute. There are many work teams that make up this Institute—all with various expertise and focus areas. NLEA provides leadership to the Connecting Entrepreneurial Communities (CEC) team which puts on the state-wide entrepreneurship conference annually in October. Many of our communities connected with programs and resources to help grow and support entrepreneurs in their town through this experience.
Over the past year, five MSUE work teams merged into one “super team” called the Government & Community Vitality Work Team (GCV), designed to provide easier access to community programs and resources. Workgroups within this team include Government & Public Policy, Land Use, Community Engagement, Tourism, and CEC. Find out what assistance is available for your communities, businesses, and entrepreneurs and tap into support.
Click here to see the spring GCV newsletter that explains each program, and how we are incorporating them into our state-wide entrepreneurship conference in October.
