Jump start your Startup with the Entrepreneurial Toolkit

Isabel Hess & Andy Atkinson, NLEA Summer Interns

We are excited to be able to share with you, an Entrepreneurial Toolkit for Antrim, Charlevoix, Cheboygan and Emmet County. This toolkit organizes resources available in our four county region that help entrepreneurs create and maintain a viable business. It was developed through the hard work of the Northern Lakes Economic Alliance summer internship program, graciously funded by the DTE Energy Foundation.

The summer was spent researching and meeting with numerous professionals and entrepreneurs to gain insight on business startup and operation details that entrepreneurs frequently need help with.

Additionally, countless resources were organized to address needs of entrepreneurs in the development of their business venture. In northern Michigan, we are fortunate to have access to numerous resources that are here to aid entrepreneurs in the areas that they may need help with. These areas include product or idea development, financial planning, market research, demographic analysis, access to capital and real estate, and choosing the appropriate legal structure and insurance, to name a few.

This toolkit brings all of this together in a single document to help organize thoughts and simplify the process for an entrepreneur. It is available, free of charge from a universally accessible hyperlink to download and print from any device. It is also available in individual county specific versions that cover Antrim, Charlevoix, Cheboygan and Emmet Counties. Everything will be there for the ease of the entrepreneur!
