Evan Root, senior at Central Michigan University.

Madelyn Cain, sophomore at Central Michigan University.

Starting in May you will see two new faces around the region, as two student interns will join the NLEA team for the summer. For their project, they will work with local municipalities to highlight priority sites for redevelopment around the region, gather necessary information for developers, and then put together marketing packages for each site. Once completed, the sites will be used at the local and state level to attract positive development within our region.

Both interns hail from Central Michigan University (CMU) with marketing and business backgrounds.

Evan Root joins us from West Bloomfield, MI. He will graduate in May with a bachelor of applied arts degree, majoring in art and minoring in multimedia design. Evan has spent countless hours on Lake Charlevoix fishing and swimming in the summer, and at Boyne Mountain in the winter. He is an avid outdoorsman and is thrilled to call Boyne City his home for the summer of 2019.

Madelyn Cain is in her sophomore year at CMU and is a Boyne City Native. She will obtain a degree in marketing with a professional sales concentration. She is very active in various campus life activities and is a dialogue facilitator for one of the college courses. When back home in northern Michigan, Madelyn enjoys hiking the trails at Avalanche Mountain, boating on Lake Charlevoix, hammocking, and reading. She is looking forward to using her skills and expanding her knowledge this summer with NLEA.
